Fall colours : Closet essentials.

There’s just a way it feels, the sun in the evening as I listen to a song I love, it’s been a while since I heard it. The sky a beautiful blue background to white cottony clouds. The sound of chirping birds in the background as I watch eagles cruise the high skies. The nostalgic green of the neighbour’s leafy mango tree, the blossoming leaves lined with an autumn orange. My mind escapes to the coffee table, the black paint is coming off, you can see the brown wood underneath.
Now, just because I live in a country that is right on the equator and experiences an average of two seasons every year that do not include Fall doesn’t mean that I won’t wear fall colours or incorporate them into my closet. So here are a few colours that you should incorporate in your closet to wear on cool, windy, summer days.

1.Brown.
Shades of Brown are characteristic in alot of fall pieces and outfits and look amazing in leafy green and maple backgrounds. The shades I like the most are Sandy Brown and liquer. Brown can work really well in a pair of loafers which can very easily accessorize some of your more relaxed fits. It can also work really well in jackets and accessories.  Sandy brown and lighter brown tones can work great for suit pants and chinos.

2. Orange.
Orange is definitely a nature inspired colour that is really beautiful and can work great as a shirt or T-shirt with a pair of plain white jeans or chinos with a pair of brown khakis. There are also a lot of different shades of orange from more tangerine ones to darker shades of the colour. These all work great for tops and might look really cool as detailing on sneakers.

3. Green.
All shades of green are also pretty cool for autumn, paired with white or black pants, green especially olive green would make really cool outfits. An olive green T-shirt, sweater or shirt would be a perfect addition to your fall closet. A cool outfit off the top of my head would be an olive green sweater paired with grey dress pants and a pair of white sneakers. You can add a lot of interest to this outfit with a bracelet and some dark sunglasses.

4. Blue.
Even though blue is not a typical fall colour, I think navy and even lighter shades of blue would look wonderful with white, black and sandy brown. Blue is obviously a kind of all season colour and can be worn at any time and still look really good which is an amazing feature if your buying something blue to own for the long term. Blue sneakers are also actually looking really good right now and a pair like the airmax 94’s London version would work really well with a pair of cream or white chinos and a plain navy T-shirt or one that is white with navy stripes.

That’s my list of colours to wear in the fall, or in fall weather for those who like me who live in countries without a defined fall season. A lot of these colours are complementary as you have probably noticed in the pictures above.
